WEEK AQUA Stainless Steel Algae Brush
$16.00
The Hard Brush:
-
Best For: Black Beard Algae (BBA), Green Spot Algae (GSA), and stubborn diatoms that have chemically bound to surfaces.
-
Ideal Cleaning Surfaces: Hardy, rough hardscape elements like Seiryu Stone, Dragon Stone (Ohko), Lava Rock, and thick, seasoned pieces of Mopani or Malaysian Driftwood.
-
When to Use: Use this when algae has taken over your rocks and normal nylon brushes just glide right over it without leaving a mark.
-
Warning: Never use the Hard Brush variant on aquarium glass, acrylic, or delicate plastic equipment (like lily pipes), as the stiff bristles will permanently scratch them.
The Soft Brush:
-
Best For: Green Dust Algae (GDA), Hair Algae, Staghorn Algae, and general organic biofilm buildup.
-
Ideal Cleaning Surfaces: Softer woods (like Spider Wood or Bonsai Driftwood), smooth river stones, cosmetic sand borders, and internal equipment like filter intakes, heaters, or CO2 diffusers.
-
When to Use: Use this for weekly maintenance or when you want to gently dust off your hardscape without chipping brittle stones or tearing delicate mosses/epiphyte roots (like Anubias or Bucephalandra) anchored nearby.
